This is a huge week for college football.

While phase one of the six-week preseason practice plan (eight hours of mandatory workouts) starts on Monday, Greg Sankey and all 14 athletic directors from Southeastern Conference schools will meet to discuss the college football season and fall sports schedule.

Sankey, the Commissioner of the SEC, does not want to make a hasty decision yet he remains concerned on the plausibility of having football this year. The global Coronavirus pandemic caused the Big Ten, ACC and Pac-12 conferences to move toward a conference-only schedule for fall sports, which led to the cancellation of Alabama’s matchup with the USC Trojans.

Neither the SEC nor the Big 12 has done anything yet, but Mike Gillespie of ABC News in Columbia, S.C. said Sankey and the 14 AD’s will meet in Birmingham (Ala.) on Monday.

Everyone will be holding their breath in hopes to see football.
