The University of Alabama looks to return to the College Football Playoff in the fall and win a national championship. Nick Saban has several talented players, but which ones will emerge as the most impactful?

The staff at Touchdown Alabama Magazine will spotlight numerous players for the upcoming season.

After looking at Miles Kitselman, Robbie Ouzts is fifth in our tight end breakdowns for Alabama.

Robbie Ouzts

Classification: Junior

Hometown: Rock Hill, S.C.

Position: Tight End

Size: 6-4/258 pounds

2022 stats: four catches, 43 receiving yards (13 games, three starts)

Strengths: Elite size, athleticism, toughness, strong blocker

Weaknesses: Lacks elite speed, has potential to be a pass-catcher but needs to be tested

Summary

Robbie Ouzts, a former three-star in the 2021 class, was heralded for his blocking as a freshman.

He caught one pass for eight yards in 11 games, but he cleared the way for most of Brian Robinson's 14 rushing touchdowns.

Ouzts had four receptions for 43 yards last year; however, he is still known as a blocking tight end. He has potential to be a successful receiving option, but will the Crimson Tide look at him as one? It is a question for Nick Saban and Tommy Rees to pursue as the 6-foot-4 Ouzts did not participate in spring football because of an injury. He has the size, athleticism, and toughness, but he is not a marquee receiving threat at the moment. Ouzts may continue in his exceptional role as a blocker.
