Marlon Humphrey will take the field for workouts next week, but the two-year starter at cornerback from the University of Alabama is already receiving much respect from a conference foe.
While he’s projected to be selected anywhere in the first round of the upcoming NFL Draft, former Mississippi State receiver Fred Ross told scouts that Humphrey was “the toughest defensive back he faced” last season.

Prior to entering Bryant-Denny Stadium for a game versus the Crimson Tide, Ross accounted for 643 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. Humphrey and Alabama secondary limited him to three receptions for 23 yards, earning a 51-3 blowout win over the Bulldogs. After totaling 81 tackles, five interceptions and 13 pass breakups in the last two seasons, Humphrey is now focused on succeeding at the professional level.
