The live television broadcast will still have Kirk Herbstreit, Chris Fowler and Holly Rowe; however, the Entertainment Sports and Programming Network (ESPN) is adding the Monday Night Football crew to the mix.

News comes from John Ourand, media reporter for Sports Business Journal.

The MNF crew will be casting the College Football Playoff National Championship Game on ESPNews, replacing the “Coaches Film Room.” While Joe Tessitore is the veteran among the group, Jason Witten, Booger McFarland and NFL Draft analyst, Todd McShay will join him to cover the matchup.

This will be the fourth time that the Crimson Tide and Tigers meet up, and the third situation with the playoff trophy on the line.

Nick Saban and Alabama won the first meeting in 2015, earning a 45-40 win over Clemson at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz. The following year, it was Tigers’ quarterback Deshaun Watson that refused to be denied. Despite a vaunted Tide defense – led by Reuben Foster, Ryan Anderson and Jonathan Allen – Watson guided Clemson to a 35-31 victory.

Round three should be fun, as Alabama heads to Santa Clara, Calif., on Friday.
