Wilson is a product of Lancaster High School in Dallas, Texas. While garnering a 4-Star recruiting rating, the Texas product has pulled in 14 football offers. Wilson said he found out about the Tide’s offer in surprising fashion.

“My coach called me and said a coach wanted to talk to me, but he said he was not going to tell me who it was,” Wilson said. “I called the number and the coach was expecting me. Then he (Jeff Banks) said it is Bama. We talked about how I was doing and he told me I had an offer from them.”

Four SEC schools have offered Wilson along with in-state programs, Texas Tech and Texas. Texas and Ole have Miss have both offered this month. A joyous feeling swept over the rising junior when he found out he had an offer from the Crimson Tide.

“I was happy, like really happy,” Wilson said. “Not too many people get an Alabama offer. Alabama is in the top four and the college football playoffs almost every year and to have an opportunity to play for a team like that is a dream and a blessing.”

At 6-4 and 210 pounds, Wilson is a big target for his quarterback. He is difficult to defend in jump ball situations and plays with a competitive nature. The 2022 prospect said Banks told him he liked his aggressive playing style.

“He said he liked how I track the ball with my body and my hands,” Wilson added. “He also said he liked my aggressiveness at my age.”

While practicing social distancing, Wilson is currently working on tightening up his routes heading into the summer before his junior season.

Jeremiah Alexander, a 4-star defensive end, remains as Alabama’s only 2022 commit. A visit from Wilson could come this summer from Alabama. Wilson did say he feels Alabama’s ability to produce NFL talent is impressive.

“Alabama is probably the No. 1 ranked school to get someone, where they want to be,” Wilson said. “I feel at Alabama if you put the work forward, they can get you there.”
