VIDEO: How special can Alabama’s freshmen at wide receiver become?

The University of Alabama football program had four special wide receivers from 2018 to 2020.

Jerry Jeudy and Henry Ruggs III were taken in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, and DeVonta Smith and Jaylen Waddle are expected to be selected in the first round later this month.

As elite as the four were, some Crimson Tide fans believe the group of freshmen that came in this class might be better. Alabama signed Agiye Hall, Ja’Corey Brooks, Christian Leary, and JoJo Earle in Nick Saban’s highest-ranked recruiting class in his tenure. All four have immense potential, but will they achieve it at Alabama?

This is the question everyone wants to know.

Three of the four receivers — Hall, Brooks, and Leary — enrolled this spring to get a fast start in learning the offense. Earle, a four-star from Aledo, Texas, will arrive on campus in the summer.

Last week, yours truly of Touchdown Alabama Magazine tackled the topic of the freshmen receivers via In My Own Words.

It will be fun to see Hall, Brooks, and Leary at Bryant-Denny Stadium for Saturday’s A-Day Game.
