Early look at Alabama football’s 2024 in-state offensive targets

Mario Craver after game

The state of Alabama’s 2024 recruiting class is loaded with top defensive prospects, but the state has its fair share of offensive stars as well.

The Crimson Tide have a commitment from one of the state’s top wide receivers with a pledge from Perry Thompson. The Tide have also offered other uncommitted offensive recruits who they are expected to continue to recruit and evaluate over the next few months.

Here is an early look at Alabama’s top in-state offensive targets, who are uncommitted or committed elsewhere:

Mario Craver – WR

Craver is one of the most talented wide receiver prospects in the country. His speed, athleticism and advanced route-running ability has made him one of the most sought-after wideouts in the 2024 class. He was originally set to announce a commitment on Oct. 23, which is his mother’s birthday. Tennessee looked to be in the driver’s seat for him then, but his recruitment has opened quite a bit since then. Alabama, Auburn, Florida and Tennessee are a few of the programs expected to continue to be in the mix for the Clay-Chalkville product.

J’Marion Burnette – RB

Burnette’s recruitment looked as if it was headed toward being an Iron Bowl recruiting battle early on, and it is arguably still trending in that direction at the moment with Auburn showing him a lot of love. He has not been shy about his heavy interest in both programs. Auburn commits and its coaching staff have also not been shy about their heavy desire to land the Andalusia product. Nick Saban visited Andalusia High School in January, and the Tide appear to still be very interested in the four-star back.

JaCorey Whitted TE

Whitted earned an offer from Alabama in January, but the McAdory tight end has yet to visit Tuscaloosa since earning an offer from the Crimson Tide. The 6-foot-6, 220-pounder has the skillset to play either tight end or wide receiver at the next level. He has the frame of a future tight end, but he looks really comfortable flexed out wide at wide receiver.

Cameron Coleman – WR

Coleman picked up an offer from Alabama in January. He also recently added an offer from Georgia. Alabama has also not hosted him since offering him. At 6-foot-3 and 180 pounds, Coleman can rise up and go get the football as he thrives in jump ball situations. The Phenix City product is also a tough runner after the catch.

Josh Flowers – QB

Flowers is coming off of an impressive junior season at Baker High School, where he threw for more than 3,000 yards and rushed for more than 1,000 yards. Alabama has a commitment from five-star quarterback, Julian Sayin, and his commitment is considered firm. The Tide have seem to entertain the idea of bringing two quarterbacks in this class and Flowers will most likely have to be okay with that if he chooses to roll with the Tide in the future.
