Auburn Mens Basketball Head Coach Bruce Pearl was not happy with the officiating following the teams 17 point collapse and 90-85 loss against Alabama on Wednesday.
‘We’re at Alabama…play football over there at the football stadium’

Pearl’s post-game rant was largely in part to three of his star players fouling out of the game. Jaylin Williams and Allen Flanigan committed their last fouls in overtime, both players had combined for 32 points before leaving the game. Johni Broome was called for his last foul with 7:31 in the game after he and Jahvon Quinerly went after a high pass that resulted in Broome rolling out of bounds with Quinerly standing over him. If you watch the replay 6-foot-1 Quinerly reads the pass and comes over the top to intercept the ball over 6-foot-10 Broome.
There was a pass over the top and three guys kind of tackled him,” said Pearl. “That play? We’re at Alabama, they play football over there in the football stadium. We threw the ball (and) a couple of defensive backs climbed on his back. Then the ball went out of bounds, I guess. I don’t know. It was some sort of a scuffle. Our bench stayed on the bench and they had some guys come off, I guess.”
Auburn has lost seven out of its last eight games, including two times against Alabama. They will look to get back on track against the Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday. As for Alabama, they celebrate their second regular season SEC Championship in three years and travel to take on top 25 Texas A&M on Saturday.
