Four more Alabama alums land on NFL’s Top 100 players of 2023

Stephen R. Sylvanie - USA TODAY Sports

If potential recruits wanted a reason why to chose the University of Alabama for football, look no further than the NFL’s Top 100 players of 2023 list.

Nick Saban has nine of his former Crimson Tide players on the countdown.

Four landed on it Tuesday with Patrick Surtain, C.J. Mosley, Jaylen Waddle, and Quinnen Williams. Surtain, a 2020 College Football Playoff National Champion, came in at No. 49 as one of the best young cornerbacks in the National Football League.

Mosley, a two-time BCS National Champion in 2011 and 2012, remains a highly respected linebacker. His peers voted him No. 46, and he returns as a marquee defensive leader for the New York Jets. Jaylen Waddle, a 2020 CFP National Champion, has quickly become one of the best playmaking wide receivers in the NFL. He ranks at No. 44 after back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons.

Williams, a 2017 CFP National Champion, recently signed a contract extension for the Jets.

He chimes in at No. 40 after a career season in 2022 on the defensive line.

Alabama is looking for other names such as Minkah Fitzpatrick, Jalen Hurts, and Amari Cooper to appear on the countdown.
