Ray tried his hand at the United States Football League with the Philadelphia Stars, but he was released from his contract to sign with an NFL team. Ray joins forces with Bryce Young, Bradley Bozeman, and Deonte Brown as Crimson Tide alums. He came to the Tide in its top-ranked 2017 recruiting class from James Clemons High School. Ray sustained injuries, but he played on two College Football Playoff National Championship teams in 2017 and 2020. He looks to make Carolina his permanent home.
