
Frank Reich and the Carolina Panthers are about to see what it has in its No. 1 overall pick from the NFL Draft.

The team announced on Sunday it will play Bryce Young in Saturday’s preseason opener against the New York Jets.

Reich did not specify if Young will start or how many reps he could see, but he will play. Young, an Alabama football alum, has made a lot of plays in Panthers’ training camp. He has the respect of his teammates and coaches, but they want to see how he performs under the lights in live action. The California native became the first Crimson Tide quarterback in school history to capture the Heisman Memorial Trophy. He earned the coveted bronze award after a stellar sophomore campaign in 2021.
