DeVonta Smith, a former Crimson Tide receiver, was recently featured on Newton’s podcast. Smith, a 2020 Heisman Trophy winner and two-time College Football Playoff National Champion, was a first-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. The Louisiana native became the most decorative receiver in Alabama football history, holding all-time career marks for receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns. Smith jokingly told Newton on his podcast that “Auburn will never have its time.”

“It ain’t going to ever be y’all time,” Smith said to Newton about Auburn football. “It’s not going to ever be y’all time.”

Smith is one of the best young receivers in the NFL.

He came in Alabama’s 2017 signing class and made some of the most iconic plays in school history, including a game-winning, 41-yard touchdown catch on “2nd and 26” in the 2018 CFP National Championship matchup versus Georgia.
