Alabama football lost to Vanderbilt in 2024 in one of the biggest shockers of the college football season.

“They played a better football game than us,” Ryan Williams recently told Jon Gruden in an interview. “This game, we came out slow and they capitalized. They held the ball. They had their gameplan and they executed.”

The Crimson Tide would go on to lose three more games in Kalen DeBoer’s first season.

Alabama is now looking to avenge those losses. Williams revealed the Crimson Tide are not referring to matchups against teams Alabama lost to in 2024 as revenge games.

“Man, going into this game, we don’t call them revenge games,” Williams said. “We gonna kill an ant with a sledgehammer this year. So, I mean, just every game we fell short last year. We definitely got red eyes going into them.”

Alabama football is now focused on having a productive summer before fall camp.
