Top 5 quarterbacks Alabama football will face in 2025

Alabama football is set to take on a group of talented quarterbacks during the 2025 football season.

The Crimson Tide’s defense will be tasked with stopping potential Heisman candidates, potential first-round picks and quarterbacks who defeated them last season.

Here is a look at the top five quarterbacks the Tide will try to contain in 2025:

1. LaNorris Sellers – South Carolina

Sellers is considered to be a potential Heisman Trophy candidate with his dynamic skillset. Some are even attempting to make an argument he could rise and become the favorite to be the No. 1 overall pick in this next NFL Draft.

The dual-threat quarterback continued to get better as the season went on in 2024. His best game of the season came against Missouri when he threw for 353 yards and five touchdowns while completing 21 passes. He also rushed for 45 yards in the win for the Gamecocks. 

South Carolina had Alabama on the ropes in 2024 with stellar defensive play and a solid game by Sellers. While Alabama was able to contain him to 19 yards on the ground, the quarterback did throw for 238 yards and two touchdowns before throwing a late interception that sealed the game up for the Tide. Alabama defeated the Gamecocks 27-25 at home.

Alabama will now have travel to South Carolina to take on a Gamecocks squad expected to contend for a playoff spot. If the Gamecocks’ defense can resemble their 2024 version, Sellers’ ability to extend plays and keep his offense on the field could present quite the challenge for Alabama.
