Alabama offers in-state Mississippi State DL commit

Mary G. Montgomery’s 2026 defensive lineman, Kaleb Morris continues to rise as one of the top trench players in Alabama.

The 6-foot-4, 260-pound Mississippi State commit recently received a major in-state offer from the University of Alabama.

MGM head coach Zach Golsen called Morris out of class for a conversation with Alabama defensive line and assistant head coach Freddie Roach. It was a moment that left an impression on the talented junior.

“Coach Golsen called me out of class to speak with Coach Roach,” Morris said. “He spoke to me about my game and how he sees something different than other coaches. He told me he had my game tape cut up, and later that day, I received an offer.”

The offer was a dream come true for Morris. He plans to make his way to Tuscaloosa in the near future.

“I was definitely excited,” Morris told Touchdowns Alabama. “It’s in-state, my family is Alabama fans, and it’s a blessing to receive such a big offer. Me and my mom plan to take an unofficial visit there to a game.”

Despite the Alabama offer, Morris reaffirmed his commitment to Mississippi State.

“My stance is strong,” said Morris. “I committed there for a reason. I love what Coach [Jeff] Lebby is doing, turning the program around and how they plan to use me.”

Other major programs are staying in contact with Brown at the moment as he keeps his recruitment open.

“I’ve been talking to Colorado for quite some time and Auburn is still pushing hard.”

Morris’ recruitment will be one to watch closely heading into the rest of the season as he continues to dominate in the trenches.
