Ty Simpson has an opportunity to continue his hot streak on the football field this weekend against a talented Georgia defense.

Simpson had been one of the better quarterbacks in the sport before the Crimson Tide’s BYE week. He had delivered the football with great efficiency and had taken care of it through the early part of the season.

The former five-star has thrown for 862 yards and nine touchdowns while completing 71 percent of his passes through three games. Georgia will be attempting to slow down Simpson and the Alabama offense Saturday in Athens.

The Crimson Tide’s offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb wants Simpson to lean on what has made him successful as of late in preparation for this highly-anticipated matchup.

“Just remember what has made him successful the last two weeks, and that’s just been built from the ground up, great feet, disciplined and decision making,” Grubb told reporters when asked what his message to Simpson was ahead of this matchup. “I think that’s the biggest part for him.”

Simpson led the Tide to wins over ULM and Wisconsin with impressive performances. Alabama football’s head coach Kalen DeBoer has noticed Simpson become more comfortable over the last few weeks.

“I think he’s really slowed the game down,” DeBoer said during the SEC Coaches Teleconference. “He stayed disciplined. He’s staying more disciplined with just where his reads are taking him and not being in a hurry, and then keeping his eyes downfield and trusting the offensive line, even, when he’s got to hang in there. I thought the third down on the second drive, him just ripping that corner to Ryan(Williams) was a big-time throw and you know that you love to see that. He’s made those plays more now the last couple of weeks and so it’s just him getting more comfortable, him understanding when he’s got to make those big throws, how to keep drives alive and staying ahead of the chains. He’s just doing a better job with all of those things here these last two weeks, but yeah I think he’s becoming more comfortable, more confident and of course, the team is becoming more confident in him too.”

Saturday will undoubtedly be the biggest game of Simpson’s career to this point.
