Alabama football’s quarterback, Ty Simpson saw his Heisman Trophy odds skyrocket on Saturday night after he led the Crimson Tide to a 24-21 victory over the Georgia Bulldogs in Athens.
The redshirt junior quarterback showed incredible poise the entire night, completing 24 of his 38 passes for 276 yards, while throwing two touchdowns and rushing for another on the ground as Alabama ended Georgia’s 33-game home winning streak.
This performance led to oddsmakers catapulting Simpson’s Heisman Trophy odds immediately after late Saturday night to +900, via DraftKings Sportsbook. Those numbers now give Simpson the second-best current odds of any player in the country after five weeks across college football, trailing only the Oregon Ducks’ starting quarterback Dante Moore.
Simpson now looks to continue his impressive play against Vanderbilt next Saturday.
