Ty Simpson tells what he needs to do to play better

Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson rolls out to pass against Georgia in Athens.

Alabama football’s starting quarterback Ty Simpson is constantly looking for ways he can be better as a signal caller.

Simpson has been critical of both himself and his teammates throughout the football season. He has gained a lot of recognition for his leadership skills after games when he has taken responsibility for his shortcomings while talking to reporters.

The quarterback was asked earlier this week what he felt he needed to do to play better.

“Just because they’re bringing some type of pressure right, I got to understand I can get the ball out quicker in the flat and to all my check downs,” Simpson said. “I can not take as many sacks. When I get out of the pocket, understand situational ball better on third down, instead of waiting on the big ball, just kind of take what they give me. Just some things like that,
I got to clean up, but it’s also disappointing because it’s easy stuff, and I got to make sure that I help my teammates in that type of aspect because they count on me for a lot of stuff. and I’m not executing that. I’m putting us in a bad position.”

Simpson is also challenging his teammates to be better this week. He ripped into the Tide’s offense earlier this week, according to Kadyn Proctor.

“I just kind of told how it was, how I felt as a leader,” Simpson said. “It’s my job to make sure that I get the best out of guys, I get the best out of myself, and I just feel like the last couple of games we hadn’t executed very well in some things. Just wanted to make sure that the guys understand what the standard is here and what the standard is of this offense.”

Alabama and Simpson will look to remain hot this season in their upcoming game against Tennessee.
