Nick Saban feels Alabama football’s upcoming game against Auburn will come down to the play of each team’s quarterback.
The Crimson Tide is rolling with Ty Simpson, who was a Heisman favorite earlier in the season. He is looking to bounce back from a two-interception performance against Eastern Illinois. Ashton Daniels is back as the Tigers’ starting quarterback after sitting out against Mercer.
“I think this game’s gonna come down to quarterback play,” Saban said on ESPN’s College Gameday. “Now Alabama doesn’t run the ball great, so that puts a lot on Ty Simpson. But the thing for Auburn, they will play good defense, is Ashton Daniel, amassed 452 total yards against Vanderbilt, sat out last week. He’s gonna come back in this game, and he’s demonstrated he can throw it and he can run it. And that’s been an issue for Auburn all year.”
Alabama is looking to secure a spot in the SEC Championship Game with a win over Auburn. The Tigers are trying to become bowl-eligible. If Alabama beats Auburn, the Crimson Tide will take on the Bulldogs next week.
