Alabama football’s starting inside linebacker, Justin Jefferson confirmed he will be ready to go against Oklahoma in the first round of the College Football Playoff.
Kalen DeBoer expressed earlier this week he felt good about where Jefferson and Zabien Brown would be for the Crimson Tide’s matchup against Oklahoma after both got banged up against the Georgia in the SEC Championship.
“We haven’t met and got the report, but just going off of last night, I would expect with the severity that they’ll both be good to go with a whole week off here and stuff,” DeBoer said on Sunday.
Jefferson was all smiles Friday when he talked to reporters, and he shared he felt good after what he described as a minor injury.
“I twisted my ankle pretty good, but shoot, God blessed me with elasticity,” Jefferson said. “I’m really flexible or something because I’m all good. It’s just a little momentary bruise. I’m all right, though.”
The Alabama linebacker is the Crimson Tide’s second leading tackler with 73 total tackles on the season to go along with five pass breakups, 4.5 tackles for loss, two sacks and a forced fumble.
The Tide will welcome him back to the field with open arms when they travel to take on Oklahoma in Norman on Dec. 19. Kickoff for the game is set for 7 p.m. CST.
