“Remember the Rose Bowl, we’ll win then.”
More times than not, that iconic lyric from Alabama’s fight song has been correct. The Crimson Tide has a 5-2-1 record in its previous eight Rose Bowl appearances. That includes a program-changing victory over Washington 100 years ago to help Alabama claim its first national title.
The Tide’s last trip to Southern California ended in disappointment, as it suffered a 27-20 loss to Michigan in the 2024 Rose Bowl as part of the College Football Playoff. This year, No. 9 Alabama (11-3) will look to keep its title hopes alive, as it faces No. 1 Indiana (13-0) in the Rose Bowl for a CFP quarterfinal on Wednesday at 3 p.m. CT.
Alabama advanced to the Rose Bowl after rallying for a road win at Oklahoma in the first round of the playoffs. Indiana earned a bye week in the first round after earning the top seed after going undefeated en route to winning the Big Ten title.
Indiana enters Wednesday’s matchup as a 7-point favorite, according to DraftKings. This will be the first-ever matchup between the two teams on the football field.
