Alabama football officially announced it will scrimmage on A-Day in a press release on Monday.
The Crimson Tide opted not to scrimmage last year, like many college football programs across the country. Alabama had an open practice instead, and it was not streamed live.
Monday’s press release stated the Tide will scrimmage for two hours on April 11. The scrimmage will get rolling at 1 p.m. CST.
DeBoer was asked about the possibility of the Tide scrimmaging on A-Day earlier this month.
“We always want to scrimmage and have a great spring game,” DeBoer told reporters. “Last year, we just had two position groups in particular… we wouldn’t have been able to put on a good show. We needed to get something out of the practices. Unfortunately, that was where we were at a year ago. I think we’re in a different spot this year.”
