True of False: Alabama WR Ryan Coleman-Williams will end the 2026 season with more than 1,000 yards

Ryan Coleman-Williams is looking to have the best season of his college career this fall.

The former five-star is coming off a season where he had 689 receiving yards and four touchdowns. He went over 100 receiving yards in just one game. Will the talented wideout finally get more than 1,000 receiving yards this season?

Touchdown Alabama’s staff gives their takes on the question:

Justin Smith – Managing Editor / Director of Recruiting

Ryan Coleman-Williams may not have had the season many expected him to have last fall, but that does not change the fact that he is extremely talented and is an incredible playmaker when he is at his best. He possesses elite speed and has a great nuance for creating separation away from defenders when he is running routes. If he was able to catch some of the several drops he had last season, he could have gotten closer to having 1,000 receiving yards as a sophomore. I am going with true because I feel whoever wins the starting quarterback job will use the talented wideout as a safety valve, and he will get more than his fair shot at targets. The talented wideout will also likely get more opportunities to catch the football close to the line of scrimmage with screen passes and jet sweeps.

False.

When looking at Alabama’s wide receiver room, Ryan Coleman-Williams is in a position to potentially receive more targets than he did in his previous seasons with the Crimson Tide, but there are a few things to consider that could lead to him staying under 1,000 receiving yards this season. In 2025, only 22 wide receivers in the nation reached 1,000 receiving yards. When looking at the numbers that Coleman-Williams put up in his freshman and sophomore seasons, it is apparent that he came ready to play in the SEC even as a 17-year-old. He finished 2024 with 48 catches for 865 yards and eight touchdowns. Some would label his performance in 2025 as a “sophomore slump” because he dropped a couple of critical passes in important games and finished the season with 689 receiving yards. Coleman-Williams battled a few injuries last season, so if he can stay healthy in 2026, he can reach his 2024 numbers and perhaps exceed them. However, if the Alabama offense fails to find a balance between passing and running, Coleman-Williams will likely fall shy of 1,000 receiving yards if the offense becomes predictable. If he doesn’t stay healthy, then this mark will be even harder to reach.

A 1,000-yard season would be a 311-yard improvement from last season, and a 135-yard increase from his standout freshman year. Given what we’ve seen through spring, and taking into account last season, I haven’t seen too much to give me the confidence to say he’ll truly take that next big step. There’s also plenty of competition in the room, with transfer Noah Rogers and returners in Lotzeir Brooks, Rico Scott and others looking to step into a major role alongside Williams and make a name for themselves. For that reason, I would say it is false that Williams reach the 1,000-yard mark in 2026.

Jake Boico – Team Reporter

I believe Ryan Coleman-Williams will bounce back in authoritative fashion during what may very well be his final season at Alabama in 2026. The talented junior could finish the season with well over 1,000 receiving yards as the Crimson Tide’s top route runner this year, and Coleman-Williams will undoubtedly need to play at a high level in order for Alabama’s offense as a whole to shine. Coleman-Williams will more than likely enter his junior campaign with a chip on his shoulder after recording 689 yards and 4 touchdowns in 2025, and the star route runner should have no problem in bouncing back this season.
