Last season, the Alabama Crimson Tide suffered an embarrassing 31-17 road loss against Florida State to open the season, and Alabama players were asked on Tuesday how the team is approaching this season’s game versus the Seminoles.

Defensive back Zabien Brown shared what Alabama’s mindset is heading into the rematch with Florida State.

“We’re just to go 1-0, trying to put on a great show for our fans at home,” Brown said. “We’re just trying to go 1-0. They are another nameless, faceless opponent. We obviously know what happened last year, but it’s a new team and a new year.”

This is a message that was reciprocated by players on the offensive and defensive side of the ball.

Alabama tight end Kaleb Edwards was asked if he views this Saturday’s game against Florida State as a revenge game or a new game featuring a new and improved Crimson Tide football team.

“I think it’s about the 2026 football team,” Edwards said.” I think 2025 is a great team, but that’s in the past. I think we just got to focus on this year.”

Even though Edwards wants to keep the 2025 loss at Florida State in the past, he also said that the main takeaway from last year’s game is that the Crimson Tide have to start fast and get after it early in the game.

The theme is that Alabama players remember what happened in 2025 but believe this season’s Alabama football team is ready to achieve a different result this time around.

Alabama will host Florida State this Saturday at 2:30 p.m. CT, and the game will air on ABC.
