Yhonzae Pierre Scouting Report
Strengths: Quick first step, Athleticism, Length, Makes Forceful Tackles, Can play in space, Backside pursuit
Weaknesses: Need To Continue Filling Out Frame
Evaluation: Pierre checks all the boxes to be a great edge rusher at the collegiate level. The Eufaula, Alabama product has great length at 6-foot-4 and 225 pounds. He knows how to use his length to his advantage in a variety of ways. It allows him to stretch it out to make tackles on fleeing defenders, and he knows how to time the quarterback’s release and knock the ball down at the line of scrimmage. He has one of the quickest first steps in the country. He explodes out of his stance and immediately put offensive tackles in a bad position. At times, it seems he is in the backfield before the ball is snapped. He will benefit from adding muscle and mass to his frame. Once he gets to between 240 or 250 pounds, he should still be operate at the same level he is now.
