Media predicts Alabama to win SEC in a landslide

SEC Media Days have officially wrapped and at the end of the week every season the media votes on the league’s standings for the upcoming season. The results were released on Friday and the media once again predicted Alabama to win the SEC.

It’s the seventh season in a row where the Crimson Tide has been predicted to raise the conference championship trophy in December as it earned 158 votes. Finishing steeply behind Alabama with 18 votes was the defending national champs Georgia with South Carolina (3), Texas A&M (1) and Vanderbilt (1) rounding out the voting.

Alabama was picked to win the SEC West tallying 1,262 total votes with Texas A&M finishing second with 968 votes. The Bulldogs were picked to win the SEC East with 1,254 points with Kentucky in second with 784 votes.

SEC Champion

-Alabama: 158 votes

-Georgia: 18 votes

-South Carolina, 3 votes

-Vanderbilt: 1 vote

-Texas A&M: 1 vote

SEC West

-Alabama: 1,262 (177 first-place votes)

-Texas A&M: 968 (3 first-place votes)

-Arkansas: 844 (1 first-place vote)

-Ole Miss: 675

-LSU: 591

-Mississippi State: 390

-Auburn: 338

SEC East

-Georgia: 1,254 (172 first-place votes)

-Kentuck: 932 (4 first-place votes)

-Tennessee: 929 (1 first-place vote)

-Florida: 712

-South Carolina: 662 (3 first-place votes)

-Missouri: 383

-Vanderbilt: 196 (1 first-place vote)
