The Alabama football world is in prayer for one of its own.
John Metchie, a Crimson Tide alum, released a statement Sunday via the Houston Texans on Twitter about being diagnosed with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia (APL). Metchie, who was selected in the second round of this year’s NFL Draft, said this form of leukemia is curable and that he’s receiving great medical care. Metchie expects to make a full recovery, but he will not likely play his rookie season in the fall for the Texans. The native Canadian is focused on improving his health to make a return to the game.
