What Bryce Young said after Alabama loss to LSU

Alabama QB Bryce Young (#9) directs wide receivers downfield against Mississippi State

Bryce Young talked to the media after Alabama football was defeated by the LSU Tigers Saturday.

Young completed 25 of his 51 passing attempts in the losing effort. He threw one touchdown and one interception. The California native said he feels his teammates understand the standard of Alabama football after the defeat.

“We understand that the moment we decided to commit here and come here and join this brotherhood, we knew that’s what it was gonna be,” Young said. “To echo what Will said this is not an outcome we want, but, I am super proud of our team. I love all of my teammates. These are my brothers. So obviously this is tough.”

The Alabama quarterback also discussed he felt he needed to play better in the game.

“Whatever the field position is, it’s on us to execute and move the ball down the field,” said Young. “First and foremost, it’s on me to play better, to do better, as a player, as a leader, I have to be better. And I wasn’t that today. The field position stuff, we put our defense in a lot of bad spots, and they came up big.  That’s not in the defense. They play an amazing game, individually. I have to be better. I have to be better as a player and a leader.”

Alabama and Young will return to action Saturday when they take on Ole Miss.
