Alabama basketball was ranked No. 1 in the AP Top 25 Monday, and for the first time since the Associated Press Poll was created in the 1930s, Alabama men’s basketball and football have been ranked as No. 1 in the same season.

Alabama hoops earned this with a gritty 77-69 road win against the Auburn Tigers Saturday, and they benefited from Purdue losing to Northwestern. This is the first time in 20 years, Alabama Men’s Basketball has been ranked No. 1 in the country.
It is familiar to see this ranking from the football team, but not basketball. Unfortunately for the Crimson Tide football team, it fell from the top spot in the AP Top 25 poll when they nearly lost to Texas A&M at home.
The Alabama Crimson Tide men’s basketball team will have their hands full on February 15th as they travel to Knoxville to face the No. 10 ranked Tennessee Volunteers.
