Jordan Lockhart returned to Tuscaloosa to visit the Alabama Crimson Tide Saturday, and he enjoyed the visit to the fullest.
Lockhart is a 2024 linebacker out of St. John Bosco High School in California. He garners a four-star rating from multiple recruiting sites.
The California product de-committed from Ole Miss Sunday. The Rebels had a commitment from Lockhart for more than a year.
Alabama is one of the schools expected to be heavily in the mix for the four-star with his recruitment open again.
Lockhart’s visit to Alabama Saturday gave him an opportunity to catch up with Nick Saban.
“Catching up with coach Saban was awesome,” Lockhart told Touchdown Alabama. “He is a man, who has a lot of knowledge to spill, and it is always great catching up with him.”
The Alabama target went on to give his thoughts on Alabama football’s competitive culture.
“I like the culture,” Lockhart said. “I can see myself possibly in it in the future.”
Alabama has been recruiting Lockhart since offering him in June after he impressed at camp. He returned to Tuscaloosa for a visit during the season in October. Alabama’s staff had previously built a relationship with Lockhart.
After multiple changes on the defensive side of the football, the Tide’s new staff is starting to build their relationship with Lockhart.
”The relationship with the staff is awesome,” said Lockhart. “It is something I am rebuilding with the new defensive staff, coach Robert Bala and their defensive coordinator, coach Kevin Steel. They both were great sitting down and talking with. It was great.”
At 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds, Lockhart stands out with his ability to move in space. He is a quick prospect with impressive closing speed. The California product is impressive when playing off the edge with his ability to contain and protect the edge. He also moves in coverage similar to a defensive back.
