Alabama head coach Nick Saban analyzed Tennessee’s quarterback, Joe Milton, during his Monday press conference.
Milton has thrown for 1,264 yards and ten touchdowns while only throwing four interceptions this season. He has also rushed for 174 yards and four touchdowns.
Saban discussed how Milton is capable of being an accurate passer and a threat as a runner. Milton, who is a Michigan transfer, has been with Tennessee for three seasons. The Alabama head coach sees Milton as the type of quarterback has faced multiple times before.
“I don’t see Joe a whole lot different than what we played against in the past when Hooker was there,” Saban said. “Guy can throw the ball. He’s accurate, he’s got a strong arm, can make plays down the field which they take a lot of vertical shots, and he certainly has the capability of making those plays. But he’s also athletic enough to extend plays in the pocket and run if necessary.”
Alabama will look to slow down Milton and pick up a revenge win over Tennessee Saturday in Bryant-Denny Stadium.
