We are in the final stretch of preseason camp for the University of Alabama football program.

Next week, the Crimson Tide prepares for its season opener versus Western Kentucky.

Alabama fans are excited to pack into Bryant-Denny Stadium for another entertaining college football campaign. Nothing but positives have been shared among coaches and players to the media about freshmen wide receivers, Ryan Williams and Caleb Odom. The former five stars have generated attention since high school, and both have performed well in fall practice.

In the second scrimmage, another young playmaker stepped up in the wide receiver room.

Rico Scott, a former four-star from Harrisburg, Pa., is incredibly talented.

The 6-foot, 200-pounder left an iconic career at Bishop McDevitt High School.

Scott recorded 177 receptions for 3,075 yards and 50 touchdowns across three seasons. He dominated his senior year with 86 catches for 1,353 yards and 23 scores. Scott put on a show in Alabama’s final scrimmage and a veteran receiver, Kobe Prentice, saw it first-hand. Prentice, a junior from Calera, Ala., sees Scott as another young face in the receiver room for fans to watch.

“Rico has been able to adapt really well,” Prentice said Wednesday.

“He has made great strides. I think Rico caught two or three touchdowns in the last scrimmage. So, Rico has been going crazy.”

One of Scott’s multiple touchdowns in the game-like practice came with him getting hit by two defenders. He brought in a touchdown from Jalen Milroe and hung on to the ball. Scott is someone that is going to be huge for the Tide in the future.
