He hates that Alabama football missed the College Football Playoff, but AJ McCarron is one of several former Crimson Tide players that is tired of hearing fans complain about it.
Some fans have pointed to the CFP Selection Committee for leaving Alabama out, stating “Bama fatigue” made this happen because the sport is tired of seeing the Tide on top. A lot of supporters for Alabama have pointed to the fact the Tide had three victories over teams in the CFP Top 25 and Southern Methodist University (SMU) had none. McCarron, a former three-time BCS National Champion (2009, 2011-12), is not having it any more. He went on the McCready and Siskey podcast on Monday to cut it real with Tide nation on why Alabama is not in the playoff.
McCarron pointed to the team’s three losses as the primary reason.
“Alabama doesn’t deserve to be in because Alabama had 3 losses” – @10AJMcCarron
“If you want to go to the playoff, beat f*cking Vandy. Beat f*cking Oklahoma” – @tylersiskey

“Alabama does not deserve to be in because Alabama had three losses,” McCarron said.
“When I was at Alabama and we had three losses, you would have thought the world was coming to an end. In 2010, we lost to South Carolina, we lost to LSU, and we lost to Auburn. You would have thought the world was coming to an end. And now, this three-loss Alabama team … and a lot of fans are complaining and b******g about not being in the playoff, you can’t complain about not being in the playoff when you had three regular season losses. We hold ourselves to a certain standard. Live by that standard at all times, even when it pisses you off that we are not in. I’m a football fan and a realist, they don’t deserve to be in.”
Former Alabama LB says Tide deserve to be in the ‘Toilet Bowl’
McCarron sharing tough words to the fans about his Alma mater.
It is a disappointment for Alabama not being in the CFP during the first year of a 12-team playoff.
Hopefully, the Crimson Tide will learn from this experience and be better next season.
