The Crimson Tide announced the signing of Griffin and listed him at 200 pounds, and this prompted many to be concerned about his weight as a 6-foot-3 linebacker. By the time spring football came around, Griffin had gotten up to 222 pounds after a few months in Tuscaloosa.
His weight is now trending to not be a problem for Griffin this fall. He will likely be a contributor on special teams and possibly as a depth piece for Alabama in defense during his first season in Tuscaloosa.
The former five-star took snaps at inside linebacker and as an edge defender in the Crimson Tide’s spring game.
