The Alabama Crimson Tide’s defense was excellent throughout all four quarters of Saturday’s road win over Kentucky.

The unit as a whole allowed just 10 total points against a talented Wildcats’ offense. Alabama’s linebackers played exceptionally well throughout the contest, as both Caleb Woodson and Luke Metz were able to make a massive impact on numerous occasions during the win.

Crimson Tide defensive coordinator Kane Wommack took a moment to comment on the unit’s success against Kentucky, as Wommack praised Woodson for the effort he’s shown over his first two games at Alabama.

“Our effort is continuing to improve. I think Caleb Woodson is leading the charge in that regard.” Wommack said. “He’s really setting the standard for how you have to play.”

Woodson recorded 12 total tackles, two sacks and two TFL during Saturday’s 45-17 victory over the Wildcats. The former Virginia Tech star has made a critical impact on the Tide’s defense to begin the year, and the veteran continues to receive some major praise from Wommack and the rest of the Tide’s coaching staff as a direct result.
