TUSCALOOSA—Senior offensive lineman Alphonse Taylor missed the last two days of practice, due to a light concussion he sustained in Alabama’s 49-30 win over Arkansas. The 6-foot-5, 345-pound right guard has started four games, with his best performances coming against Ole Miss, Kent State and Arkansas.

Taylor aided the Crimson Tide to 264 yards rushing and three touchdowns on 34 carries against the Razorbacks. Head coach Nick Saban updated the media on Taylor’s status, during Wednesday’s presser.

“He [Taylor] is probably pretty questionable for this game,” Saban said. “No decision has been made. We have a protocol for every injury that a guy has and we will not put any player on the field, until he fulfills the protocol.”

Taylor, a native of Mobile, Ala., has worked earnestly to gain his starting job back. He faced an indefinite suspension for an off-field issue (DUI) during the offseason, while pushing himself to get back into playing shape. He’s played in 39 career games, but Saturday’s meeting with Tennessee will be a game-time decision.
