He was a good special teams’ player, but as nice as he was in football, it is even better to witness Keith Holcombe locate his calling at the University of Alabama.
After fully committing to baseball in 2018, the Tuscaloosa native has become a polished hitter and stellar outfielder for a team that is 4-1 this season under coach Brad Bohannon.
Holcombe would probably been a late round pick or undrafted free agent – if he had stuck with football – however, baseball has positioned him with the chance to potentially be a first-round draft choice. The senior blasted his second home run of the young 2019 campaign on Friday in Alabama’s 7-1 win over Ball State at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.

Holcombe turned in two hits in four at-bats, while driving in four runs.
He is batting .467 for the Crimson Tide with two home runs and nine runs driven in. The 6-foot-4, 235-pounder has a perfect slugging percentage at 1.000 and with the Tide having Game 2 of its three-game series with Ball State on Sunday, Holcombe has an opportunity to produce more damage.

He was a part of two College Football Playoff national championship in 2015 and 2017, but seeing Holcombe excel in baseball has Tide fans very proud of the former four-star.
