Roman Harper is officially a member of the ESPN family.
He had a great collegiate career at the University of Alabama (2002-05) and played 11 seasons in the National Football League, but the Prattville (Ala.) native will now don a new hat. According to a press release from ESPN PR, Harper inked a multi-year deal with SEC Network on Tuesday.
He joins the cast of SEC Network and will appear across SEC Network studio programming.

During his tenure with the Crimson Tide, Harper totaled 302 tackles, five interceptions, five forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries and 3.5 sacks. He was the anchor for Alabama’s secondary in 2005, helping the team notch a 10-win season — prior to NCAA sanctions.
Harper was a first-team All-Southeastern Conference selection for his work as a senior.
For his NFL career, Harper won a Super Bowl in 2009 with the New Orleans Saints and was voted to two Pro Bowls.

He collected 819 tackles, 18 sacks, 16 forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries, 11 interceptions and two touchdowns.
Harper played for the Saints (2006-13), Carolina Panthers (2014-15) and Saints again in 2016.
He will also be inducted into the Saints’ Hall of Fame this season.
With his vast knowledge of the game, ESPN has a great one in Harper.
