Alabama’s offense was so good in 2020 that it is impossible for players not to have fun.
Marquee leaders such as Mac Jones, Najee Harris, DeVonta Smith, Alex Leatherwood, Landon Dickerson, and Steve Sarkisian (offensive coordinator) all finished last season with individual awards. As for the Crimson Tide’s offensive line, the group captured the Joe Moore Award — becoming the second unit since 2015 to earn the honor for Alabama.

In its attempt to put the right names for each award at the University of Alabama’s athletics complex, Najee Harris’ name was listed on the Outland Trophy case. Evan Neal, a rising junior at offensive tackle, saw it and decided to have some fun with the moment. He took a photo of Harris’ name on the case and shared it on Instagram with the caption: “That boy Naj won the Outland too?”
Neal tagged both Harris and Alex Leatherwood, the Outland Trophy winner for 2020, in the photo.

Leatherwood was the sixth player in Tide history to win the award — joining Chris Samuels (1999), Andre Smith (2008), Barrett Jones (2011), Cam Robinson (2016), and Quinnen Williams (2018).
He won the Doak Walker Award, which is presented to the nation’s top running back in college football, but Harris’ versatility would be worthy of the Outland Trophy. He totaled 1,466 yards rushing, 425 yards receiving, and 30 total touchdowns. Harris had six 100-yard rushing performances last year.
He projects as a first-round for the upcoming NFL Draft.
