Former Alabama running back T.J. Yeldon expected to start in Jacksonville

Ex-Alabama running back T.J. Yeldon has impressed Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley in OTAs. He’s shown no signs of weakness in the team’s offensive system, and is expected to be Jacksonville’s featured back this fall.

ESPN NFL Insider Adam Caplan said Yeldon could wind up being a three-down player for the Jaguars. He was selected in the second round (36^th overall pick) in the 2015 NFL Draft, and signed a four-year deal worth $5.9 million.

Yeldon excelled in his three seasons at Alabama (2012-14).

He totaled 979 rushing yards with 11 touchdowns on five yards per carry in 2014. His career ended with 3,322 yards and 37 touchdowns on 5.8 yards per carry. He earned first-team All-SEC honors in 2013, and second-team All-SEC honors last season. Yeldon is a two-time Southeastern Conference Champion (2012, 2014), and a BCS National Champion (2012).
