After a bye week, Alabama football is resting again -- due to a spike in COVID cases at LSU caused for the game between Crimson Tide and Tigers to get postponed.

The Crimson Tide has practiced throughout these two weeks and according to credible sources, interesting news has come at running back. With Trey Sanders out indefinitely, Jase McClellan (true freshman) has emerged as the No. 3 runner in the rotation. A four-star from Aledo, Texas, he flipped to the Tide late in the 2020 recruiting process after being an Oklahoma Sooners pledge for almost two years. He totaled 6,468 career rushing yards with 122 touchdowns on 842 carries in his tenure.

When people describe his style, McClellan is viewed as a 'home run hitter.' He has big-time speed in open space and has a knack for breaking long runs. Nick Saban talked about the capability he has to be productive in this offense, but now he is about to get an opportunity. The trio of Mac Jones, Alex Leatherwood and Patrick Surtain like both McClellan and Roydell Williams (freshman) at the position.

Prior to next week, the last time Alabama played Kentucky was in 2016.

Tide fans were introduced to a freshman in Josh Jacobs that posted a career-high 100 yards rushing with one touchdown on 16 carries. He also turned in 44 yards receiving on three catches.

Alabama won the matchup, 34-6, and Jacobs grew to be a fan favorite and first-round pick.

Next week will be interesting, as we monitor McClellan's progress.

Jase and Roydell both have the “it” factor to continue Bama’s run of elite RB”s. We’re losing Najee and Brian #22 & #4 as both are seniors. Trey Sanders and Keilan Robinson should return so we’ll have four RB’s returning for 2021. Some might remember Dennis Homan, a great reciever from yesteryear... looks like His Grandson will be an invited walk-on long snapper. Auburn is NEXT...I’m sure hoping we have an “ornery “ attitude and put a whoopin on their backside theyll not soon forget ! RTR

Jase s great homerun hitter and very good all around. But Roy. is super at 20-30 yarders with powerful build and tackle-breaking ability and strength.

Sanders- who knows now but pulling for him? Our Tx rb is a Homerun hitter too. Do not need more than one per year now- put others at wr or safety so they can make the league there.
