PODCAST: Can Alabama win the CFP National Championship this season?

Alabama head coach Nick Saban thinking on the sideline versus Arkansas in 2017

Nick Saban is making moves defensively to ensure that Alabama does not miss out on the College Football Playoff this season.

He is going after his seventh national championship and should he win, Saban would eclipse Paul W. “Bear” Bryant in the minds of Crimson Tide fans.

Despite it not being a clear-cut favorite to win the national title, Alabama has been in this situation once before. In 2015, the Tide entered a season where it failed to secure championship hardware in back-to-back years.

After not winning a national title in 2013 and 2014, Saban and company found a way to finish the job in 2015. It was not the favorite to win it all that season; however, the Tide pushed through adversity. Week three of the upcoming campaign will be important, as Alabama will host Georgia at Bryant-Denny Stadium on Sept. 19.
