Breaking: President Trump wants to see Alabama football games at full capacity

Everyone is on the edge of their seat waiting to hear if there will be a college football season this year, and if so would fans be able to attend.

The idea of sporting events being played without crowds has been universally agreed upon by all leagues as a good idea from the very beginning as the NCAA was prepared to do so for March Madness.

But in the best case scenario everyone is hoping that fans will be able to cheer on their favorite teams from the stands. One of those looking to hear the roar of the crowd is President Donald Trump who spoke about the topic during his press conference on Thursday.

“Our normal is if you have 100,000 people in an Alabama football game, or 110,000 to be exact. We want 110 thousand people there. We want every seat occupied,” said Trump when asked about allowing a limited amount fans into stadiums. “Normal is not going to be when you have a game with 50,000 people.”

Today, Trump unveiled new plans to ease social distancing requirements in areas of low transmission of the coronavirus, while still remaining strict in areas of high transmission or risk.

Locations which appear to be having declining infections and good testing would go through a three-phased process which would have the area slowly begin to reopen schools and businesses. Each of the three phases lasts a minimum of 14 days, in order to have confirmation that the virus does not begin to rapidly spread again.

With Trump’s three phase plan put into motion a return to college football will become more likely with the evaluation of the infected areas.

If Alabama is in phase three of the White House’s plan, then Bryant-Denny Stadium will be able to hold its full capacity this fall “under limited physical distancing protocols.”
