Alabama football’s first spring practice session under Kaleb DeBoer is approaching.

The staff at Touchdown Alabama Magazine will spotlight 30 players to watch over this spring with spring practice starting next week.

After looking at three freshmen and two defensive linemen, Keon Keeley is next to be previewed.

Keon Keeley

Position: Linebacker

Classification: Redshirt freshman

Height: 6-5

Weight: 242

2023 stats: no stats

Summary: Keon Keeley came to the University of Alabama as an electric five-star from Tampa (Fla.) in the 2023 class.

He recorded 65 total tackles, 35 tackles for loss, 16.5 sacks, and 22 quarterback hurries in 13 games as a junior for Berkley Prep in the 2021 season. Keeley chose to wear No. 31 for the Crimson Tide, following in the footsteps of Will Anderson Jr.

He redshirted last year to learn the culture and system while helping the Tide to a Southeastern Conference Championship.

The 6-foot-5, 242-pounder has all the tools to be a successful linebacker, but does Keeley end up being a defensive end because of the 4-2-5 defense under Kane Wommack? He would need to put on 20 more pounds to make the change; however, he probably could be effectively at his current size. Alabama fans were extremely high on Keeley when he came in and want to see him excel.

We will see how well he performs in spring practice.
