Marquis Evans earned an offer from Alabama football on Saturday when he visited the Crimson Tide.

Evans is a 2027 football recruit, who attends Minor High School in Alabama. He holds previous offers from Alabama, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Tennessee and others.

The junior feels earning an Alabama offer is another major accomplishment for him in what has been a year of improvement.

“It meant a lot,” Evans told Touchdown Alabama. “Things have changed a lot in just a year. The biggest thing for me is that this time last year, I wouldn’t see myself in this position.”

Evans got to meet Kalen DeBoer and spend time with Alabama’s staff during his visit.

“The staff was very welcoming,” Evans said. “The facilities were nice. Everything was good overall for my first time there.”

Alabama’s staff told Evans his ‘motor, size and upside since it’s only year two’ for him stand out. At 6-foot-5 and 245 pounds, Evans fits the mold for the type of defensive linemen the Crimson Tide are going after at the moment. He is versatile, has great length and can get after the football with great backside pursuit.
