Alabama football leads the Eastern Illinois Panthers at halftime.

Here are some observations from the first half:

Alabama Has A Kicking Problem

Conor Talty continues to be an unreliable kicker. He missed from 28-yards in the first half, continuing his inconsistent season.

Early Rotations

AK Dear at running back, Cayden Jones at linebacker, Luke Metz at linebacker, QB Reese at linebacker, Ivan Taylor at safety and Marshall Pritchett at tight end were among the young and inexperienced players who rotated in the game early for the Tide.

Qua Russaw Looks Ready To Go

Qua Russaw is playing in this one after suffering a broken foot earlier in the season. He was a game-time decision against Oklahoma last week, but he did not play. He rotated into this one early and made multiple tackles.

Ryan Grubb On The Field

Ryan Grubb is on the field calling plays. He has been in the booth all season.

Emphasis On Run Game

Alabama football wants to get its run game rolling in this one, and it has put an emphasis on running the football as a result. Four Alabama running backs have carried the football in this one so far. The Crimson Tide has ran the ball 21 times for 117 yards and four touchdowns.
