Alabama TE now expected to play 100 percent of snaps, per ESPN report

Alabama football’s starting tight end, Josh Cuevas is now expected to play ‘100 percent of snaps,’ according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel’s latest injury report.

This report comes after ESPN’s Holly Rowe previously reported Cuevas would be in a pitch count, and he would be limited in the game to 20-25 snaps. Kalen DeBoer confirmed both Cuevas and Danny Lewis Jr. would play in the game earlier this week.

DeBoer provided more positive news on Cuevas Friday while talking to ESPN before the game.

“Everything seems to be progressing the right way, including today,” DeBoer said. “Excited to get him out here for warmups and see how he goes.”

Cuevas was listed as a game-time decision on the last player availibility report along with fellow tight end, Danny Lewis Jr.

Ty Simpson is most definitely happy to have one of his favorite targets back.

“Josh is an excellent player, so not only is he great in the pass game, but he’s great in the run game as well,” Simpson said earlier this week. “Being able to just see him on the field and have him have his presence is just remarkable, especially having in the huddle, just a different type of vibe when he’s in there. I am very excited about that.”

Alabama and Oklahoma get after one another at 7 p.m. in the first round of the College Football Playoff.
