Former Alabama offensive lineman, Alphonse Taylor is not upset with the departures among the Crimson Tide’s offensive linemen via the transfer portal.
The Crimson Tide has lost one starting offensive lineman to the portal and multiple reserves. Wilkin Formby is transferring to Texas A&M after starting at right guard and right tackle in 2025. Olaus Alinen, Roq Montgomery, Arkel Anugwom and Joseph Ionata are taking their talents elsewhere after entering the portal.
Kam Dewberry, Jaeden Roberts and Geno VanDeMark are set to depart from the program after spending their last year of eligibility with the Tide. With Kadyn Proctor and Parker Brailford declaring for the NFL Draft, Michael Carroll is set to be the Tide’s only returning starting offensive lineman in 2026. This is something Taylor appears to be a fan of.
“There’s not one offensive lineman that is leaving I will lose sleep over. We were soft, uninspiring, and inconsistent at best. A very far cry from the standard of football I’m use to seeing from us up front. Culture in that room has to change,” Taylor posted to X.
Alabama is actively recruiting multiple offensive linemen in the portal.
