After the announcement that the Miami Dolphins would be releasing Tua Tagovailoa this summer, he is already seeing interest from other franchises.
One of the teams already showing interest in signing Tagovailoa are the Atlanta Falcons according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The Falcons have been in quarterback purgatory since Matt Ryan left the team and its 2024 first round pick Michael Penix will miss significant time recovering from an ACL injury. Atlanta is also under new command with Kevin Stefanski as the latest head coach along with Ryan leading the front office, neither of whom were involved in drafting Penix.
This could be an early indication that Atlanta is in search of more stability at the position.
Tagovailoa is coming off a career worst season where he threw 15 interceptions and was replaced for the final three games of the regular season. But he has shown to be more than capable when surrounded by the right offense and when healthy.
Back in 2024, Tagovailoa led the league in passing yards while leading Miami to the postseason and appearing in all 18 games.
Should Tagovailoa sign with Atlanta and get back to his old production the franchise could be back on its way to competing for a playoff spot.
