Tampa Police Detective Scott Barnett testified during Terrion Arnold’s pre-trial detention hearing on Monday.
Barnett revealed that multiple people told him Arnold planned the alleged attack Arnold was eventually arrested for in his testimony. He also said Arnold watched the attack on FaceTime in a car, alongside Jackson Ridgeway.
Harvey Steinberg, who is representing Arnold as his lawyer, attempted to suggest that directions on the FaceTime call did not come from Arnold when he questioned Barnett. Steinberg asked Barnett if Ariana Del Valle, who prosecutors say lured victims in for the attack, told him Arnold gave them directions during the FaceTime call.
“Specifically, no,” Barnett replied.
Arnold has been granted a $1 million bond. The conditions of his bond are no contact with co-defendants or witnesses and surrender of his passport. He will also be confined to his residence except for work and legal appointments.
A judge ordered he will not have to wear an ankle monitor, despite the state requesting that he do so.
